It's time to make my money work for me

I have recently opened up a Scottrade account. I have always paid attention to the stock market and have invested some here and there. The problem is that I didn't have the extra money to really invest the way that I wanted to. I have always felt that I could earn a better return on my money by using my money to start a business. Guess what? So far I have been right. I invested $1,295 into Coastal and turned that in to about $101,000 in an 18 month period. However, I am beginning to make enough money with Coastal that I want to leverage my efforts by putting my money to work for me. I have always read and understood a lot about investing and I am continuing to learn new things all the time.

I chose to open an account with Scottrade, for a number of reasons. First of all, Scottrade has had six awards from JD Power and Associates for Investor Satisfaction. Second, they are a discount broker charging a very competitive $7 per trade. They are also one of the few discount brokers to have branch offices all over the country. Scottrade has over 258 branch offices nationwide. If I ever feel the need too, I can actually go into a branch office and talk to someone. I am very computer literate and love doing business, banking, and investing online. However, I really like the fact that Scottrade offers that extra personal contact via their branch offices.

Continue to read my blog and you will start to see it grow and evolve. You will start experiencing the struggles of my investment activity from this point on. You will read about my successes and share in my set backs. I have a goal to reach a liquid $1,000,000 by the age of 30 years old which means I have about 3 and a half years to complete that goal. My investment strategies will either assist me in reaching that goal or set me back and I will have to increase business production to make up for any losses that I incur in the market. Regardless, you are invited to follow along. At this point, most of my investing will occur within my Scottrade account.

7,000 reasons to love this business

Jen Wilson from PA, just recently upgraded to the Platinum level. Which means that I earned a $7,000 profit from her Level 3 upgrade. Congratulations Jen! Jen is a great friend and a pleasure to work with. She is very financially concious. Jen, has been balancing her personal life with her professional life a lot lately but, her business is really starting to pick up. Her confidence on the phone when talking to clients is among the best I have seen in awhile. When she 3 ways her prospects to me her posture and technique is always open, honest, and just plain friendly. Jen, has been plugged into Dani Johnson's teaching and training. I personally have met her at two of Dani Johnson's seminars. The investment that she is making in herself and her business by attending Dani's events is reflecting in her business. Jen Wilson, will be one to watch this year. If she increases her dials, consistency with her business, and continues growing and learning with Dani you will see her develop into a true leader within her own team and the Coastal Wealthbuilders. That growth has once again been leveraged with her upgrading to the Platinum level. She is now in the best possible position to grow her business as efficently as possible!

Mom called and told me that he had a heart attack while I was in Michigan. He isn't doing very well so I decided I better go see him today. I will keep you guys posted on this. I have driven for over 15 hours I am tired and exhausted!

We leave for North Carolina tonight

Gary, and I will be leaving for North Carolina this evening. We have that 15 hour drive ahead of us and I am not looking forward to it. I am going to miss Carmen. I am also going to miss hanging out with Melissa. Today Melissa, and I went looking at some property that she is looking to invest in. Although, real estate investing is always in the back of my mind today it was pushed to the fore front. I will use money that I make with Coastal to invest and to build my entrepreneurial empire. Real estate will obviously be one of the area's that I invest in. I have currently opened up an account with Scottrade and will start investing in stocks and options real soon. I know much more about investing on Wall Street than I do my own street; so I will definitely start with Wall Street. I will discuss finances and my investing strategies a little later. For now, I need to get ready to leave and get home. The next time I come up here to Michigan I will be moving here that means I have some work to do when I get home, such as packing!

A great gamble

OK, I have to finish my post on Valentine's Day but I have to first tell you about the events of today. I was suppose to be at Dani Johnson's "First Steps to Success" Seminar. Unfortunately due to snow and ice our flight was cancelled and we could not find another flight that was available. At first I thought this really sucked. Carmen and I started making plans to do something fun for this weekend. We called our trusty friend Melissa and asked if she wanted to go to the casino with us. She said, "Sure". So we went to dinner at Red Lobster and got to the Soaring Eagle casino in Mt Pleasant at about 10:00 pm. Using what I call my millionaire gambling strategy I cashed in $100.00 and cashed out at 3:00 am with $445.00. That gives me a profit of $345.00 over a 4 hour period. That is almost $100 per hour. This gambling strategy isn't perfect and I am still testing it. I will publish the details to this one day but I have to continue testing it to makes sure I have enough winning sessions that I can't contribute my success to luck.

I have to admit it's just not as easy as Coastal; but, it is a lot of fun.

Rest of my Valentine's Day

Let me get you up to speed with the rest of my Valentine's Day events. Carmen told me Tuesday afternoon to put on some jeans and a certain black shirt that she likes and to be ready when she got home because we were going out for Valentine's Day. I was logging in to play one of my favorite online games, then I heard the doorbell ring. I got up and was partly annoyed for being interrupted. As I opened the door there was a gentleman in a crisp, sharp, black and white tuxedo on. He had a rose in his hand and he gave me a hanger with some clothes on it as he said, "Sir, please put these articles on and I will be waiting for you".

In shock, I looked up and saw a beautiful white Ford Excursion limo. I was speechless! I quickly put on the royal blue shirt and black pants with matching tie that was given to me by the limo driver. As I finished getting dressed and went to the door to meet my escort, he directed me to the limo by spreading rose petals at my feet as I walked. I was still pretty much speechless he opened the door of the limo to let me in. As I stepped inside, I saw Carmen looking at me and smiling, I obviously knew the joke was on me. This was one surprise that had just blew me off my feet and I had no idea what was in store for the rest of our evening. Carmen, who started once simply as an online romance, had planned an very special night for us.

We went to Detroit which was about a 90 minute limo ride. While in Detroit we went ice skating at an outside skating rink in the middle of the city. It reminded me of what Central Park in New York may very well be like. It was only my second time attempting to ice skate, Carmen enjoyed several good laughs at my expense but that was OK. Even though, I was very unsteady on my feet, I continued to put up a valiant effort. I am the type of person that wants to learn and be exposed to just about everything, I want to learn as much as I can in this short life. So despite my insecurity on the ice I continued to push forward and actually improve quite a bit. After ice skating we went and got something to eat.

We ate at a spectacular restaurant voted the #1 romantic restaurant in Detroit, it was called the The Whitney. This dining experience was luxurious and romantic. The setting was an old 21,000 square foot mansion turned restaurant, first built in 1857. When it was built this mansion cost $400,000 to build and was built by David Whitney Jr. Who became a self made millionaire entrepreneur in the lumber industry. I thought The Whitney was a very apt setting for a Valentine's meal especially for an entrepreneurial couple such as ourselves. The service was just as luxurious as the restaurant. Our coats were checked at the door, and the wait staff helped us put them back on as we left. Even though, they were very busy as all reservations were full, our wait staff worked hard to make sure we wanted for nothing. While at The Whitney we enjoyed an elegant 5 course meal that was very delicious. By the time desert arrived I was truly stuffed but, of course I made room for desert. Don't ask me what I ate, because I don't remember the name of it but it was very good. Afterwards we enjoyed a peaceful limo ride home. Carmen succeeded in making me feel like a very special person. Thank you baby! XOXO.

Sorry for the recent delay in posts

I was getting on a roll just posting every day to every other day and all of a sudden I noticed my blog was messed up. My profile and all of the archives on the right hand side of the page were missing. So I had to figure out how to fix that. I am a technical dummy so it was not an easy fix for me. None the less it's fixed now and I have a fresh new template, I hope you enjoy.

Today is Valentine's Day. I woke up to a book titled "Why I Love You 100 Reasons" by Gregory E Lang. Carmen had gotten that and a card for me for Valentine's Day. In the book on every page for every reason she added her sweet extra comments. It's great to know you are loved. Then I woke up and went to the bathroom and in there was a box of chocolates and another card. Afterwards, I walked into the office and found another card and a Valentine's Pez Dispenser. I love Pez. So that is 3 cards, box of chocolates, and a Pez Dispenser. Geez, so far I am racking up. Tonight Carmen, has something planned for us but I don't know what. She told me that I had to quit working by 4:00 pm. We shall see.

For her, I cooked dinner last night because I knew since she had something planned I couldn't do it tonight. I cooked T-bone steaks, broccoli, and baked potato. Words can not describe how fortunate I am to have found someone as special as Carmen.

An email from Renae

The following was an email sent out by Renae one of the Co-founders of the Coastal Wealth Builders. Although I am humbled by the words that she uses to decribe myself, I absolutely agree with her sentiments regarding every other leadership team member. I am proud to be a part of this caring and compassionate group of individuals and to call them my friends.

It is not said often enough, so allow us to say it here to all of you. We have a rock solid Leadership Team. This Leadership Team has helped all CWB members to stay focused, stay committed, and change their lives. This leadership team has helped us to grow our membership by 39% in 2 short months! Yes, I am not kidding………..ok, well it’s actually 38.99%. That is phenomenal growth and a testimony to this system. This system that functions by the hard and honest efforts of it’s membership and it’s Leadership team.
Each of your Leaders brings a special talent to the table. They are of like minds without question and helping others is in the forefront of each of their minds. They are each grateful each day for this opportunity and this group. They want to see success in EVERY CWB member’s life and work daily to assist you in running a solid business with a solid system. All of these things make them the same. What you may not know is what makes them different. Let me tell you...............

Lynn McCallister- The mother of our group. The wisdom paired with a caring spirit to share it with us all. Lynn is the visionary on this team. We are her vision coming to life! She doesn't focus on the details, but always has her eye pinned on the long term results of each member. Her ability to let anything roll off her back makes her a unique leader and one that we all look up to.

Renae Heikkila- I don't know about this one, she can get 'err done, but most of what she brings to the table is charm and good looks ;) hehe, Hey if I don't say it, who will? LOL

Donna Cicotte- Full of grace. There is no better way to describe her. Donna is driven and talented and she demonstrates that on each call. She cares for humanity and sheds a tear for those who suffer. Donna has the ability to get 'err done! She wastes no time in finding results for all of us and she will NEVER settle for second best, NOT FOR THIS TEAM!! (Let me just say, if you were to buy a car from her, you would probably pay her twice the sticker price with a smile on your face!!)

Kim Bowen- Kim has the ability to turn anyone's bad day into a gleeful 24 hours. Yes, she is our cheerleader. She motivates and inspires us to love everyone. Her love and enthusiasm is contagious!! She does it all in her own "Yahoobi" sort of way! (Definition of Yahoobi coming in a later post in the forum, stay tuned!) This team couldn't survive without the life she breathes into us.

Cheri Flaming- The beauty is in the details! If we didn't have Cheri to cross our T's and dot our I's we would be in shambles. She sees it as a curse that her brain works that way, but we see it as a blessing from above. Cheri’s giving spirit paired with her drive and desire to make it just right for all of us is a much needed talent on this team. We couldn't function without you!

Lynette Simmons- This one may surprise you. She is a beautiful Sapphire on the outside full of life and love of the party. What she brings to this team is pure common sense and a level head. Lynette has been with us all since day 1!! She has a calm soothing spirit even in the eye of the storm. Her gifts are plentiful and shared with all of you!

Kerri Blankenship- First off, she has the presence on the phone to command your attention! She pays attention to details so you don't have to. Run it by Kerri and she will find every error and have it corrected and sent back quicker than a New York minute! Dependable and always on the mark!

Wayne Jones- Hand him a lemon and you will surely get lemonade. Show up to the call having a really down day and his words will inspire you to jump out of your rut, pull yourself together, dust yourself off and get busy!! He is motivating and inspiring to us all. Wayne is a rock and we lean on him because that is why God brought him to us. If you don't have the strength to get through the day, Wayne will show you how to find that strength, He has enough for all of us!

Stacy O'Quinn- Incredibly smart. How can I sum up Stacy? He inspires us to achieve more, but more importantly look to OURSELVES to achieve it. Stacy takes ownership of his own behavior and his own business and his mere presence on our team inspires each of us to do the same. His expectations of us are high and we are up for the challenge! He has no doubts about what we can accomplish and will always be around to encourage you.

Mary Ellen Rops- Driving the cause! Mary Ellen has never been in this for the money. Her entire desire for her entire life has been to help other people. She has a heart the size of Texas and there is room for all the CWB members we can fit, so bring them on in!! Mary Ellen has a very organized brain and is able to explain things in a common sense easy to understand manner. She has blossomed into a great leader and she will always help us to keep our focus on the people!

Laura Correia- The CWB member formerly known as Laura Sauter. Or maybe her name is &. Just kidding Laura (I am from Minneapolis, Prince jokes are HUGE here, hehe) Laura is always optimistic. She is nearly blind to negativity. What a great way to start out the morning. A nice warm cup of coffee, the clean air, and the breath of sunshine known to us as Laura! Laura’s desire to help others change their lives is so strong that it inspires us to remember, it’s not about the money, it’s about changing lives!

Jackie O’Quinn- A great visionary! Jackie has the ability to look into the future and see benefits and repercussions of each decision. His heart is huge and visible, but his common sense and no non-sense approach keeps us all on the beaten path! Jackie’s talent lies in taking a problem and turning it inside out until a solution appears! He is a great “check and balance” for all of us.

Donna Wise- Our technical guru with the patience of JOB! Donna’s forever kind and patient approach inspires all of us to take a deep breath and understand where other people are coming from before reacting. Donna’s persistence is second to none! Another visionary on our team inspiring us all to achieve more!

Missi Worcester- Passion. She brings all the passion we need to the table for all of us. Her passion for life, her passion for loving others, her passion for healing, her passion for success. Missi’s passion is obvious every time she speaks. We will all surely miss that about her on our Leadership Team. We are saddened to see her go, but understand her passion is what drives her. We wish you the best Missi and we love you!

Geneva Compton- She brings a smile so big that you can see it over the phone! Geneva is forever positive and joy to just be around. She has the ability to make us all keep our negativity in check. You just can’t be negative around her. Geneva had an immediate understanding of this opportunity and drove her business to the top! Her desire to share all she knows and all that she is, inspires us to appreciate what we have.

Chris Shaw- Chris has unselfishly paid it forward even at the expense of his own business. His desire is definitely not about the money, his desire is to help other people achieve success. He inspires all of us to care and give more! He is a daily reminder of a caring and giving spirit. Chris brings to the table a passion for other people that is a testimony in itself!

Adrien McMackins- Adrien is our newest addition and has taken on a monumental task. Her business savvy and her experience as a travel agent paired with her drive to succeed sets her apart from this pack! Adrien has a huge heart that wants to help all of our members understand their business and skip any obstacles that she had to overcome.

We are blessed to have this team. We are blessed to share our days with you! Thank you so much for giving all that you give. There is no way to say all of your talents in one post or one email. We speak from the heart when we say Thank you! We need you as a critical piece in our success formula! Thank you Thank you

Thank you!!
God Bless!
Renae

Renae, I couldn't have said it better myself!

My Brother is on Dani Johnson's website

Today, I went to Dani Johnson's website to sign up for my 4th "First Steps to Success" seminar. I love her seminars, if you read my blog at all then you know I feel that I owe a huge amount of my success to her and her coaching. Anyway, when I went to the seminar page; I saw that they had added a new video up there. I started playing it and realized that it had come from the last seminar. At the last seminar my brother got on stage and spoke briefly. Sure enough they had a video bite of him talking. You can take a look for yourself if you want, just go here. It is the video on the left side of the screen. Just after about the 5 minute mark 2/3 of the way through you will see him. He is on stage holding a microphone, he has a shaved head, and is wearing a Burgundy shirt. He actually says something that is pretty funny but you will have to see the video to find out what it is.

I am very proud of my brother and the success he has had in his Coastal business. Knowing that I played a small part in him getting started and then succeeding in his own home based business has been one of my best accomplishments since starting my Coastal business.

Best month in business

I stole the title from a plaque that Carmen has in her office. Anyway, January was my best month in my Coastal business so far. I had a grand total of $26,410 in profit after " Cost of Goods". That was huge for me and to be honest it was quite staggering. I am only hoping February ends up being a great month as well. At this rate I am definitely on track at hitting my $250,000 after "Cost of Goods" goal for this year. At my current rate I need to average at least $20,327 each month for the next 11 months to reach my goal.

I have also recently been invited to step up into a leadership role with the Coastal Wealthbuilders. I did accept that offer. To be quite honest, I was humbled to be offered this opportunity to give back to a team that has given me so much over the past several months. There are 3 key elements that have allowed me to succeed, the opportunity with Coastal Vacations, the support of the Coastal Wealthbuilders, and the training from Dani Johnson. These 3 key elements have allowed me to began to realize my dreams. However, this is only a start. As I continue to earn money with Coastal, I will start looking for ways to invest and to diversify my business. When investing I will have two main goals capital appreciation and income from investments.

This adventure is exciting. I am excited about my future and the possibilities through Coastal Vacations. I hope you continue to follow along with me through this journey.

Superbowl Sunday

The Superbowl will be getting started shortly. We are currently at Carmen's office she is having a Superbowl party at her office. Several of her top employees will be here, her parents, our friend Melissa, Gary, Brandon, and his friend Rico. We are going to have a blast! Plenty of food, ribs, hot wings, nachos, plenty of deserts, and whatever anyone else brings. This is going to be awesome. I really don't care who wins since I am not a big fan of either the Steelers or the Seahawks but, I do hope it is a good game.

So who would you like to win?

Back in Michigan

Yesterday me and my best friend Gary left at 12:30 am with my other friend Brandon following us and we arrived in Saginaw Michigan at 4:00 pm. So that road trip took us just over 15.5 hours with stops and everything. I was extremely tired and could hardly wait for that drive to be over. I brought Gary up with me this time because I knew he had never been to Michigan and I thought he would have fun hanging out with Carmen and I. Brandon, just happen to have a friend from Medical School up here and when he found out I was driving up he asked if he could follow us up. Since Brandon, and I haven't had a lot of time to catch up with each other it was fun driving up together. We kept calling each other and listening to different radio stations and laughing at the music and talk radio. We also kept calling each other to keep each other awake. My co-pilot Gary, was sleeping most of the trip. That meant Brandon and I did a lot of talking over the phone.

I was so excited when I got in town. I could hardly wait to see Carmen. I have missed her so much! Tonight we are going out to eat at a nice restaurant with Gary, our friend Melissa and her mom; I also think Brandon and his friend may be coming as well. It will be a great time, nothing like a great meal with good friends. I think God that I have been blessed with a home based business that will allow me to take time off and travel like this. Furthermore, I have been blessed to have the opportunity to help many of my friends and clients accomplish this very same goal!
